What is Domain Name Registration and why do I need it?
In order for other Internet users to find your website, you need a web address or URL called a “Domain Name”. Its function is similar to your home address or telephone number. DJE Design will take care of all of the details in registering your Domain Name. We prefer you provide us with a few names you would like and we will research what is available for you. We will then propagate and set it up on our server for your website to display.
What is Website Hosting and why do I need it?
Website Hosting is the service of providing hard drive space on a computer whose main function is to serve your web pages via a fast and dedicated connection to the Internet. Unless you have access to this type of computer, your best bet is to contract a hosting plan. We can help you, as we have our own managed server which hosts all of our clients.
What is Website Design and why do I need it?
Website Design is the process of developing the image for your website and creating the pages that will be published on the Internet. It is probable that you already have a clear idea of want you want, but aren’t sure how to get your ideas published on the Internet. DJE Design is here to help you with your Website Design needs.
Do I get my own email address with a hosting plan?
Absolutely. What’s more, DJE Design will set up all the email accounts you need. We will also assist you with setting your email accounts up on your PC and mobile devices.
How long does a website take to build?
Turnaround time varies based on amount of customization and content. Average project length takes roughly 2-3 weeks, depending on complexity of your design, the schedules of our workload, and the rate at which we receive content and feedback from you.
We will provide an accurate start and completion date for your project upon receipt of all documents.
Can I speak with my designer on the telephone?
Yes, you will receive a design consultation and one-on-one interaction with us. One of the aspects DJE Design prides itself on is our personal attention to our clients and maintaining a solid working relationship.
How can I transfer my website to you?
We make it very simple, and relatively “hands off” for you. All we would need are your existing domain name and hosting credentials and we do all the work without you having to worry about a thing. We can also migrate email accounts to our server as well. Once the website is on our server you are given new credentials where you can either manage yourself or have us maintain it for you.
What is Website Maintenance and why do I need it?
Website Maintenance is a special service offered by DJE Design which is aimed at the person or company that already has an Internet presence on a hosting plan other than ours, but wants to make changes or additions to their website. DJE Design will help you maintain your website just the way YOU want it. Website maintenance is also for websites that we design on our servers, when clients need additional changes or maintenance after the initial design is complete.
How can I transfer my website to you?
Very simple. We make it, you own it. There are no strings attached as far as our work goes. If for some reason you choose to go elsewhere with your website, we can easily archive all of your data and provide it to you.
How can I make my website known to others?
There are many ways of making your website known to others. For example, if you have a list of email addresses of friends or clients its easy to set up a mailing list to notify them. You will also want to place your business URL on any stationary or promotional marketing material.
